Latvian Coins 1992 - 2013. Regular Strike.

Монеты с датой «1992» выпускались в двух вариантах: для обращения (регулярная чеканка — UNC) и для наборов Банка Латвии (чеканка улучшенного качества — Brilliant UNC). Оба варианта монет встречаются в банковских роллах. У этих монет есть отличия. Например, у монет UNC детали и поле монеты имеют одинаковую цветовую гамму, а по всей поверхности хорошо заметен так называемый эффект «cartwheel» (лучи). У монет улучшенной чеканки поле темнее, контраст в цвете между деталями и полем очень сильный, эффект «cartwheel» может быть едва заметен или слабо выражен. Оба типа монет могут иметь разную глубину матовости на поверхностях деталей. Если Brilliant UNC монеты доступны в наборах, то найти UNC монеты, не бывшие в обращении, крайне сложно, особенно номиналы 1 и 2 сантима. Поэтому стоимость UNC монет может быть в несколько раз выше, чем у монет из наборов.

Coins dated “1992” were issued in two types: for circulation (regular strike — UNC) and for Bank of Latvia sets (improved quality — Brilliant UNC). Both types of coins can also be found in bank rolls. These coins have differences. For example, UNC coins have a consistent color tone across both the design elements and the field, and the “cartwheel” effect is visible throughout the surface. On Brilliant UNC coins, the field is darker, the color contrast between the design elements and the field is very high, and the “cartwheel” effect may be barely noticeable or only faintly visible. Both types of coins may have varying degrees of frostiness on the surfaces of the design elements. While Brilliant UNC coins are available in sets, finding UNC coins that have not been in circulation is extremely difficult, especially in the 1 & 2 santims denominations. Therefore, the value of UNC coins can be several times higher than that of coins from sets.

Тираж монеты 1 лат 2005 года с изображением петушка в улучшенном качестве чеканки составил всего 5 000 экземпляров; все такие монеты имеют брак чеканки — «холостое соударение штемпелей».
